Year of the Rabbit

Happy new year everyone!
I am SO excited about this piece! I've made it for 's newest line art contest with the theme "Chinese New Year: The Rabbit"
The writing on the two biggest lanterns say "Rabbit" and "Happy New Year" in Chinese.
I have been working on this for so long now. I began my first sketch on either the first or second of the month, and have been progressing from there. Around the... 18th or so, I got completely stuck and didn't touch it until the 29th but I managed to bang it out.
Everything in this piece is hand drawn though I did use a crap load of references. The characters on the lanterns are written out, zoom in close and you'll see the little brush strokes. The pattern along the fences is hand drawn though I'll admit I only drew it once and then copied and pasted lol I was amazed to see that there Are mountains like the ones in the background in China. They're Crazy looking! Look at this madness! [link]
